    The student ministry at the Health Science Center is broad in scope. About 25 medical, dental and allied health students form a Campus Ministries Leadership Team that works closely with Scott and Kellie to facilitate the various Bible studies, outreach events and student involvement in mission trips. The flagship event of the student ministry is a weekly luncheon on the campus reaching 150 to 200 students, faculty and staff. About 20 local churches participate in the luncheon by bringing food…

The flagship event of the student ministry is a weekly luncheon on the campus reaching 150 to 200 students, faculty and staff. About 20 local churches participate in the luncheon by bringing food, while local professionals and pastors take turns speaking.

    Both healthcare professionals and students participate in six border mission trips annually, offering free services primarily in the colonias along the Texas border. The ministry works closely with the dental school to provide the dental outreach. Additionally, both professionals and students participate in a summer week-long trip to Central America.
